I'll be honest with you I don't know too much about Full metal alchemist but I have always found it intriguing if not for the main characters alone. Admittedly I am partial to a guy whose arm is a Swiss army knife of gadgets and so on but there is also the brotherly bond which really gets me. Admittedly I can easily see the humour that one of the brothers (the more light hearted one I'm lead to believe) is in the form of an intimidating suit of armour. The contradicting contrast alone is a laugh and the tough hard ass brother is well...short. But that said the franchise is a cool thing which I probably should read into, if only because I am impressed by this art piece which captures the badassity of the lead characters so well.
This is a pretty epic piece. I love the contrast of the black and the white and the very effective detail lines.
I'm a pretty big fan of FMA so I think you did a great job on the essence of the brother bond between Ed and Al. I actually really enjoy how you interpreted Ed. Peoples styles don't always work but he looks great in this one. You're little details (like the scars near his automail) really make this awesome.
Your detail work is awesome. I love how the metal looks. It looks really great for only being in black and white.
It's a bit weird seeing a FMA fanart in a different style, but it's really nice how you appropriate yourself the characters and still make them utterly recognizable ! (does that make sense ? if not, sorry, the translation was badly done^^") Anyway, nice work !
It makes sense and glad you like that! When i draw someone else's characters i prefer to use my own style, since i understand that fanart is doing art in your own style of whatever you're fan of, not copying the original style. There's the original author for that!
